The Lir ASD Hub
The Lir Centre opened in September 2013 when Anna, Courtney and Gemma joined us in St. Vincent's. Chloe joined later that year. The centre supports students with autism who have a report from a Multi-Disciplinary Team recommending that a special class placement in a mainstream school is both necessary and suitable. It was the first centre in Ireland to offer support in a single-sex girls only setting.
We have decided in recent time to update the name to Tearmann Lir or The Lir Hub to reflect the multifaceted, flexible and agile nature of the support offered to students. We have had a number of well known visitors since we opened including Brian Crowley MEP, Lord Mayor of cork 2013 Clr. Catherine Clancy and more recently in 2014 Joanne O'Riordan who formally opened Tearmann Lir.
Parents interested in enrolling their daughter should in the first instance make an appointment to meet either Ms. Siobhán O'Donovan or Ms. Claire Barry on 021 4307730.
Enrolment in the The Lir Hub is covered under the term of the school Enrolment Policy.
